MCAS Academy at BCC

Bristol Community College has a program designed to meet your needs.

The MCAS Academy provides… 
  • Individualized instruction in Math, English Language Arts, and Biology
  •  Instruction in reading skills targeted to the English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and Biology tests – learn how to understand and answer the questions
  •  Test taking strategies
  •  Practice in writing the MCAS ELA essay
  • Practice in analyzing and solving MCAS Math problems
  • Study 1, 2, or all 3 subjects

  • The Academy offers College admission assistance and Free Credit Courses
  • Free 1-credit Career Exploration (CSS 103) class at BCC – get help deciding your future! (Second session)
MCAS Academy Instructors are well-qualified and the class schedule is convenient
  • Our Instructors have experience teaching at the high school and the college level
  • Currently, there are sessions being offered at our Elsbree Street campus.
Meeting dates and time
  • Biology Tuesday, November 26, 2013-Thursday, January 30, 2014 5:15pm-8:45pm (Instructor & location to be determined). (MCAS retest scheduled for February 2014)
  • ELA with Harry Harootunian meets Wednesdays & Thursdays from 5:15pm-8:45pm beginning Sep-tember 25th-November 7th 2013 in Building B103(MCAS retest scheduled for November 2013)
  • Math with Ameur Belmedani meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15pm-8:45 beginning September 24th-November 7th 2013pm in Building B200A (MCAS retest scheduled for November 2013)

MCAS Academy requirements 
  • Completed application and parental permission if under age 18 (Applications available from the guidance counselor)
