Daily Announcements 9/24

Students who are in grade 9 may sign up for the PSAT exam to be offered at DR on Saturday, October 19th. There are a limited number of spots for the exam and all sign ups are on a first come first serve basis. The cost of the exam is $25.00 (Cash only). Please see Mrs. Shillan in Guidance to sign up.

Interested in joining the school newspaper? Come to the first meeting of the Falcon Flyer next Thursday, October 3rd at 2:00 pm in the English lab (room 313). All are welcome. 

Just a reminder that the Crossroads store is open every morning from 7:00-7:15. They're selling agendas, flash drives, hats, pencils and more. Come check it out!

Anyone interested in arguing or acting should stop by the mock trial meeting next Tuesday in the media center, where information and some debating with be discussed. Normal practices don't usually interfere with sports and we might have snacks.

School pictures will be taken tomorrow the 25th. If you need a picture form you can get one in the main office. 

Attention Actors, debaters and talkers! Don't forget, the meeting for Speech Team is tomorrow after school in 127 or see Mrs. Loell, Phil Proulx or Emma Kearns. 

Want to join Peer Leaders? Pick up a form in the office and return it by Friday the 27th. 

Attention students: Ms. Mathias is looking for creative and motivated students to join the yearbook committee  our first meeting is Wednesday, September 25th after school in Room 110. 

Attention Juniors and Seniors: Representatives from Newbury College, Johnson State College, Assumption College, Roger Williams University, Merrimack College, University of New Haven, Franklin Pierce University, and Alderson Broaddus University West Virginia will be visiting next week. Interested students may sign up in advance in the Guidance Center. Sign-ups will not be allowed the day of the college visit. 

The Golf Team won its sixth straight match yesterday when it defeated Bourne by a very close margin of 122 to 116. Senior co-captain Nate Lachance led the way with 25 points, followed by senior co-captain Noah Kowal and Nick Soares with 24 points each. Nick Grassie contributed 24 points to the winning effort, with Eric Pappas scoring 15 and Jon Ursillo 13. The team will try to keep its streak going when it hosts Case next Monday. 

Interested in Science. Are there experiments you'd like to do but never get the chance in class. Come join the DR Science Club. For our first meeting on Wed, September 25th in room 214 at 2:05pm. See how much fun science can be. 

This is a reminder to Ms. Feeley and Mr. Lasalle's Green day, period 3 class. Please take second lunch. 

The Girls Varsity Soccer team by a score of 2-1 yesterday to West Bridgewater. Zoe Karavolis scored the falcon's goal. 

A reminder to Leo's: our meeting this week will be helf after school today in Mr. DeMello's room-120- instead of the Media Center.

There will be a informational meeting for all students interested in joining the Portugese Club. The meeting will be this Thursday after school in room 122. All are welcome. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Augusto. 

The JV football team defeated somerset yesterday 20-8. Touchdowns were scored by Kyle Cappielllo, Cam Reed, and Alex Goss. Matt Goss added a 2 point conversion. Mitchell Green, Anderson Lapierre and John Delaney all played well on defense. 

The JV Girls soccer team beat West Bridgewater 1-0 yesterday. Julia Campezato scored the loan goal with assists from Emma Masse and Jordan Flanagan. Megan Moran played stellar defensively for the 6 and 1 Lady Falcons.
