Daily Announcements 10/15

Attention Juniors and Seniors: Representatives from UMass Amherst, Quinnipiac University, Simmons College, and University of Southern Maine will be visiting next week. Interested students may sign up in advance in the Guidance Center. Sign-ups will not be allowed the day of the college visit. 

A reminder to Leo's, our meeting this week will be held on Thursday, at 4:30 in room 120. See you there!

The Volleyball team would like to serve the community with a food drive! Please bring any nonperishable food items or toiletries to any October home volleyball game to be sent to the Rehoboth Food Pantry. The dates are October 14th, and 16th. Thank you for your support!

Attention Seniors: Spirit Week is right around the corner. If you are interested in submitting a design for the 2013 spirit week t-shirt, please see Mrs. Bacon in Room 121 for information. Designs are due next Friday, October 25th and the student body will choose its favorite design.

Anyone interested in Wrestling this Winter, there will be an informational meeting in Room 112 Thursday after school. Anyone who cannot attend - see Mr. Lovejoy in the small cafe during any lunch.

The Golf team defeated Seekonk yesterday by a score of 127 to 106. In improving its record to 14 and 3, the Falcons' were led by senior co-captain Noah Kowal, with a game-high 29 points. Nick Soars contributed 24 points, followed by Eric Pappas with 21, senior co-captain Nate La Chance with 20, Nick Grassie with 18 points and Jon Ursillo with 15. The team will travel to Wareham next Tuesday to compete in the South Coast Conference tournament.

The Freshman football team defeated Old Rochester by a score of 20-6. An impressive defensive performance was led by Sean Perreira. Sean Perreira also scored all three of D-R's touchdowns. The team's record is now 3-2-1.

The South Coast Conference will be hosting a Captains'/Leadership workshop on October 24th. This workshop is available on a first come, first serve basis. Sign ups can be done in the main office. All paperwork must be in before approval is given.

Congratulations to Austin Burrows who was voted by our school community as Dighton-Rehoboth's DAR Good Citizen. This honor was awarded to Austin because he demonstrates qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Good luck to Austin as he continues in the competition against other students in our state and our nation.
