Attention seniors: spirit week is right about the corner! If you are interested in submitting a design for the 2013 spirit week t-shirt, please see Mrs. Bacon in room 121 for information. Design are due this Friday, October 25 and the student body will choose its favorite design.
Jazz Band practice is tomorrow (Tuesday) from 2:00-3:00.
Attention Juniors and Seniors: Representatives from Curry College, University of New Hampshire, Stony Brook University, Castleton State College, Framingham State University, and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences will be visiting next week. Interested students may sign up in advance in the Guidance Center. Sign-ups will not be allowed the day of the college visit.
The boys cross country team finished 5-1 in the SCC this season and had an excellent performance at this weekend's McIntyre State Invitational Meet. Ty Enos broke the school record for 5k cross-country in running a 15:48 for 3.1 miles at McIntyre. Ty's clocking tied the state meet course record and finished 5th behind four other runners who broke the mark. Kyle Rendon also smashed the old state record in the freshman race by 25 seconds and finished 4th with a scorching time of 10:59 for 2.1 miles. Large personal best times were had by Alden Foelsche, Ben Palazzi, Nate Louro, Jon Fleet, Dean Bullock, Jon Eddy, Joey Rogers, Isaiah Ferreira, and many others. The girls cross-country team finished 4-2 in the SCC this season and improved tremendously from last year. Each DR runner set her season best time on Saturday at McIntyre by more than one minute. Aleigha Correia, Gracie Harrison, Kylie Furtado, Alyssa Masciarelli, Rachel Harris, and Kendra Palazzi ran the strongest girls team performance for DR in a decade. Girls interested in running for cross-country next fall can run indoor track after Thanksgiving. See Mr. Antani or Mr. Pease for more information.
Attention JV and varsity football players: Please report to the weight room no later than 1:15 today.
The boys soccer team lost to Bishop Feehan Friday 4-0. The team hosts Seekonk today at Bliss Field. Please come out and support the team and all the Seniors on Senior Day. All players should report back to Bliss Field for 2:00 today.
There is no drama rehearsal today. The next rehearsal is Wednesday, October 23, from 2:00-4:00.
Any student who is interested in a student run anti-bullying program please sign up in the main office or see Ms. Striano.
All DECA members must meet with Mr. Lentz no later than the end of school on Tuesday, October 22nd to verify their competition categories and teams. See Mr. Lentz any time before or during school on either Monday or Tuesday. Again, all the DECA members must meet with Mr. Lentz by the end of school Tuesday, even if they have already submitted their dues.
