Daily Announcements 10/7

The girls varsity soccer team tied Apponequet 0-0 on Friday. Mae Stebbings had an unbeleivable game in Net recording her 5th shut-out of the season. It was a true team effort by all. The girls take on Greater New Bedford this afternoon.

The Varsity Football Team defeated Greater New Bedford Voke 19-14 on Friday night touchdown. Kyle Rose scored on Td runs of 15 and 3 yards.  Jake Salera and Kyle Rose had interceptions.

The boys soccer team lost to Apponequet on Friday 3-1. Tim Guimond scored the Falcons only goal. Next game is home today vs. Greater New Bedford Vocational.

Wednesday October 9, the Field Hockey Team will play Case for the annual Breast Cancer awareness game at 3:30 at DR. A bake sale will follow the game. All proceeds will go to Breast Cancer Research.

Peer Leaders, there will be a meeting tomorrow after school in the small cafe at 2:00.

There will be a brief meeting of the Portuguese Club tomorrow after school in room 122. Election of officers will take place. All are welcome.

Attention Juniors and Seniors. Representatives from Christopher Newport University, Salve regina Universtity, Worcester State University, Stonehill College, Nichols College, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Suffold University will be visiting next week. Interested students may sign up in advance in the Guidance center. Sign-ups will not be allowed the day of the college visit.

A reminder to all Leos: Our meeting this week is on Tuesday at 2:00 in room 120. See you there!

With Halloween approaching fast, it is a good time to think about others! the Leo Club is asking you to donate gently used costumes to be given to those who need them. Costumes can be dropped off in Mr. DeMello's room, room 120 upstairs. Thank you!

There will be a Student Government meeting for all members tomorrow (Tuesday) after school. If you can not attend please see Mr. Cooke or Ms. Beckett. See you there!

The Volleyball team would like to serve the community with a food drive! Please bring any nonperishable food items or toiletries to any October home vollerball game to be sent to the Rehoboth Food Pantry. The dates are October 14th, and 16th. Thank you for your support!

Attention Best Buddies: There will be a mandatory training session tomorrow, October 8th. You can either attend the after school session from 2-3:30 in room 105 or the evening session from 6-7:30. Any student interested in swimming on the D-R swim team this winter season should stop by the office to sign up for more information. No prior swim team experience is necessary.

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears! There will be an informational meeting next Wednesday, October 9th, for all students who want to join or are already members of Latin Club. The meeting will begin right after school in Mrs. Loell's room 127. Weni, Widi, Wiki.

Attention students interested in traveling to France or Greece this April, there will be an informational meeting Wednesday October 10th after school in room 118. We will be discussing destinations so make sure you come.

With senior co-captain Noah Kowal leading the way with 33 points, the gold team turned in another strong performance when it defeated Old Rochester yesterday by a score of 135-126. Nick Soares scored 24 points, followed by Nick Grassie with 22, Jon Ursillo with 20, senior co-captian Nate Lachance with 19 and Eric Pappas with 17. The team's record is now 13 and 3, with two matches remaining before the league and state tournaments.

A reminder to all Mock Trial members. We have a practice tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 in the media center. We are looking for seniors to join our team, so if you are interested please come tonight's meeting as roles will be selected in the next couple of weeks. Please bring $5 if you would like pizza.
