Daily Announcements 10/8

Unite against Bullying-wear orange on Unity Day, Wednesday October 9th. What are your true colors when it comes to showing your support for students who are bullied? Show those being bullied that they are not alone, that you care, and lead the movement against bullying.

The Girl's Varsity soccer team defeated Greater New Bedford Voke yesterday by a score of 3-2. Sam Rodrigues had two goals and Emily Cronan had a goal and an assist. The falcons take on Wareham tomorrow at home.

The boys soccer team lost to Greater New Bedford Vocational yesterday 2-0. Alex Fortier played geat in the net. Next game is at Wareham tomorrow, practice will end at 4:30 today. Just a reminder that cookies will be delivered today at Bliss Field.

Calling all seniors in joining the spirit week committee- there will be an informational meeting after school Wednesday in room 217. Please see Ms. D'Agostino with any questions.

Wednesday October 9, the Field Hockey Team will play Case for the annual Breast Cancer awareness game at 3:30 at DR. A bake sale will follow the game. All proceeds will go to Breast Cancer Research.

 Attention Juniors and Seniors. Representatives from Christopher Newport University, Salve regina Universtity, Worcester State University, Stonehill College, Nichols College, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Suffold University will be visiting next week. Interested students may sign up in advance in the Guidance center. Sign-ups will not be allowed the day of the college visit.

With Halloween approaching fast, it is a good time to think about others! The Leo Club is asking you to donate gently used costumes to be given to those who need them. Costumes can be dropped off in Mr. DeMello's room, room 120 upstairs. Thank you!

There will be a Student Government meeting for all members today after school. If you can not attend please see Mr. Cooke or Ms. Beckett. See you there!

The Volleyball team would like to serve the community with a food drive! Please bring any nonperishable food items or toiletries to any October home volleyball game to be sent to the Rehoboth Food Pantry. The dates are October 14th, and 16th. Thank you for your support!

Any student interested in swimming on the D-R swim team this winter season should stop by the office to sign up for more information. No prior swim team experience is necessary.

Attention students interested in traveling to France or Greece this April, there will be an informational meeting Wednesday October 10th after school in room 118. We will be discussing destinations so make sure you come.

Students who were interrested in going to Spain and Portugal please see Mrs. DeAguir for your deposit checks. The trip has been cancelled.

Alex Goss led the Jv Football team with 2 touchdowns and 4 2-point conversions in a 32-22 comeback with versus Greater New Bedford yesterdaty. Kyle Cappiello and Matt Goss also had rushing TD's while Christien Quevedo and Bram Stebbings led the way of defense.

Due to parent conferences, chess club will be cancelled this week!
