Class of 14’
Kira Hitz is a dedicated member of the volleyball and swim teams at the high school. She has played volleyball for four years and has been on varsity for two years. She is captain of the swim team, which she joined in her sophomore year. Kira received the Girl Scouts Community Service Bar for doing 20 hours of community service for non-profit organizations, and she also won Volunteer of the Year her sophomore year. She works at the YMCA as a lifeguard, a swim instructor, and a childcare provider, all the while excelling academically. Kira is a member of the National Honor Society, and she received the John and Abigail Adams Award for academic achievement on the MCAS. She aspires to attend a four year undergraduate degree, majoring in nursing. In her time at D-R, Kira is most proud of challenging herself to become a well-rounded person in all aspects of life.
Class of 14’
Matthew Haynes is a valued member of the D-R marching band and chorus. He became involved in the band his sophomore year and has since been designing the theatrics of the shows, such as the props and the costumes. Matt currently plays the role of Mickey Mouse in the band. In his free time, he plays the role of Mickey Mouse at birthday parties and donates that money to the marching band’s trips. In the band, he is known as the character designer and coordinator, but he also plays alto sax and baritone sax. He has q member of Triboro Youth Theatre since he was in seventh grade; he has done 18 shows and is now a production assistant. Matt is in the top ten percent of his class, a member of the National Honor Society, and takes AP courses. After high school, he wants to go to college to be a music teacher.
