NEW BEDFORD - After falling behind 2-1 in the non-league outing, the Falcons pushed across four unanswered goals to win their season-openers.
Brandon Botelho got on the board first on a rebound tally and later added an empty-netter, with Nick Soares assisting on both tallies. The Bears then scored late in the first and early in the second to amass a one-goal lead. Justin Silva evened the scores with two minutes left in the second period, as the New Bedford goalie failed to cover up a puck before it slid across the goal line.
In the third period, 10 minutes in, Joey Givens scored the game-winner on a slap shot, assisted by Curtis Letourneau. Soares added a score five minutes later, dribbling past the goalie, on assists from Botelho and Givens.
D-R/Seekonk (1-0) dominated in scoring chances, putting 32 on net while Jacob Robitaille was tasked with turning aside 18 in the opposite end.
