Teachers Participate in Community Outreach

On December 4th, Dighton- Rehoboth high school teachers held a holiday gathering centered around giving and charity strategically directed at their own school communities of Dighton and Rehoboth. Teachers individually donated personal funds to each town with over 85% of teachers participating.

Over $300 was donated to each town. Visiting the high school the next week were Ms. Gretchen Olney from the Dighton Lion's Club who noted that the funds would "help citizens individually no matter what their need" and Mr. Steve Martin from the Rehoboth Food Pantry stated that funds would go to the "toys for children, the food pantry, or for emergency fuel assistance."

Ms. Michelle Deschenes (Curriculum Coordinator for Math) and Mr. Jon Pacheco (DR Teachers Union VP and social studies teacher)  presented the school's large sized checks, made by students in the CTE program to Mr. Martin and Ms. Olney on behalf of the high school. All four noted that they looked forward to partnering with each other again in the future to help "anyone in our communities who needs it."
