This year’s Winter Ball will be Friday, February 7 from 6:30 to 10:30 at Venus de Milo in Swansea. Tickets are $25, payable by cash or check, and will be on sale at all lunches from Wednesday, January 8 through Tuesday, January 21. All students are required to submit a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian in order to purchase tickets. Additionally, all guests from other schools must submit a guest contract. Permission slips and guest contracts are available in the main office, in room 121, and on the bulletin board outside the cafeteria. Again, you must have these forms signed before you purchase tickets. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bacon in room 121 after school.
Anyone interested in volunteering to work at this year’s soup kitchen which will be held at the First Baptist Church in Fall River on Tuesday January 28th, may sign up in room 115. You will be required to have a signed parent permission form which you may obtain when you sign up. See Mr. Moura if you have any questions.
There will be a meeting of D-R's student newspaper, the Falcon Flyer, on Wednesday, January 15th, at 2:00 pm in Room 313. All current members should attend, and new members are welcome!
Congratulations to the Wrestling Team for their 46-30 win on Saturday against King Phillip Regional HS. The D-R grapplers also lost to Northern Powerhouse - Central Catholic, and now has a record of 2 wins and 4 losses in dual meet competition. Key varsity wins were earned by Tom Ranley, Dan Johnson, Brandon Tran, and Joe Tomellini. JV Standouts on the day were freshman Peter Marcille and also Andy Howland - who won both his matches. The Wrestling Team Hosts Hanover HS this Wednesday at 6:30pm.
The boys' basketball team lost a hard-fought 42-41 game to Bishop Connolly yesterday. Nick Koneski had 13 points to lead the scoring while Ben Roache added 10 points and 10 rebounds and Keanu Baltazar had 10 points and 14 rebounds. Do not miss the falcons' next game against arch-rival Seekonk here @ DR on Tuesday @ 6:30 p.m!
What a tournament this past Saturday for the Speech Team! We had 4 qualifiers into the finals at the Newton South Speech and Debate Tournament! Emma Kearns and Chris Berry took 7th in Duo Interpretation, Phil Proulx took 6th in Impromptu Speaking, and Surrey Hulker was the overall champion in Novice Reading!!! We are so proud of the whole team who did a great job! Now onto Columbia University for the High School Invitational!! Go DR Speech and Debate!

The girls' basketball team lost to Hockmock Conference leaders Sharon yesterday 54-23. The team was lead by Kylie D'Ambrosio with 14 points. The team plays at Seekonk tomorrow.
