Girls lose hard fought meet but Boys swim past Old Rochester

The Girl’s swim team lost in its meet to Old Rochester but there were a number of outstanding individual performances highlighted by  first place in the 100 freestyle and 100 breastroke by Tayla Slater.  Also finishing first was Kaitlyn O’Connor, a freshman, in the 500 and 200 freestyle.  Samantha Brown had an excellent time in the 100 butterfly and, along with Emily Morin, Caroline DeCoste, and Tara Dwyer, finished 2nd in the 200 relay.  Also finishing 2nd were Kaitlyn O’Connor, Meaghan O’Connell, Tara Dwyer, and Tayla Slater in the 4-by-100 relay.

The boys’ swim team smashed Old Rochester at the same meet.  Bryan Tran qualified for Sectionals in the 100 yard freestyle and he also was 1st in the 100 yard backstroke.  Jon Eddy finished 1st in the 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medley.  Cailin Hitz finished first in the 500 yard freestyle and was part of the 1st place 200 medley relay, which, along with Tran and Eddy included Cory Ross.  Ross also took first place in the 100 breaststroke.  Dustin Kindberg, Abe Ferreira, Ryan Johnson, Cody Dyl, Nick Bellavance, and Dylan Slater contributed to second place finishes in the 200 and the 4-by-100 relays.

Special congratulations go to Bryan Tran and Jon Eddy, both of whom took first place in all 4 of their events.
