This Week's High Fives 1/31: McLean and Letourneau

DR HIGH FIVE CLUB

Lissa McLean
Class of 14’

Lissa McLean is a senior at DR who has succeeded in academics and thrived in our athletic program. Since her sophomore year, Lissa has played forward on the varsity hockey team as one of only two females currently on the team.  Lissa also plays on the under 19 Boston Bandits hockey team when not competing on our school’s team.  In addition to hockey, Lissa also plays varsity softball with the hope of starting at third base this season. She works part-time at Hannafords in Taunton, working 12-16 hours a week during the off-season.  At present, Lissa has already been accepted to both the University of New England and the University of Southern Maine and she plans to play hockey wherever she ultimately attends. After graduating college, she hopes to pursue a career as an occupational therapist.

DR HIGH FIVE CLUB

Curtis Letourneau
Class of 14’

Curtis Letourneau is a modern “renaissance man.”  A four year varsity hockey player, Curtis has successfully made the challenging transition from a defenseman to a center. An assistant captain, Curtis demonstrates strong leadership on the ice by helping to mentor the younger players. In addition to his athletic achievements, Curtis is also a well-regarded musician, playing the trumpet, piano, and drums. He recently participated in All-State Auditions and was a mere eight points away from making the final group. As a member of the popular Drumline, he will be competing with his classmates this Saturday in America’s Got Talent. He has also made SEMBA Districts every year since 8th grade.  When not competing on the ice or with an instrument, he mentors freshmen as part of our school’s Freshmen Transition Program.  Curtis hopes to attend Rhode Island College to pursue a career in music education.
