Daily Announcements 4/24

The next drivers education class will be starting on Tuesday, March 4th.  The sign up sheet is in the main office.  To sign this sheet you must be 15 years 9 mos. of age by the date of the first class.  Sign up fast, the deadline is February 28th.  This will be the last class offered for the year.

Good Morning Best Buddies- This is a reminder that our spread the word poster party will take place tomorrow from 2-3. Please report to Mr. Ts room at 2pm. This event is optional.

Attention Best Buddies- This is a reminder that our movie night will be held this Thursday at Regal Cinemas in Swansea. Please stay tuned for more details.

This message is for all Leos:  our meeting this week will be held Tuesday after school in room 120.  See you there!

Members of the girls' basketball team are reminded that there is a mandatory meeting tomorrow after school in the gym. Uniforms will be collected at that time and captains will be voted for.

Anyone interested in playing freshman, JV, or varsity baseball should report to an organizational meeting on Tuesday @ 2 p.m. In room 109.

Congratulations to Emily Colon on her acceptance to Bridgewater State University and to Olivia Colon on her acceptance to Roger Williams University.

During vacation the boys' basketball team defeated Seekonk 54-43. Nick Koneski had 22 points to lead all scorers.  The team also lost to Weymouth 55-48 and Lawrence 61-42 in the Mansfield Roundball Tourney.  Nick Koneski was named to the all-tourney team.

All boys' basketball players are reminded to return all equipment today @ 2 p.m. in the coaches' office.

Congratulations to seniors Ben Roache and Keanu Baltazar on their selection to the South Coast All Star basketball team.  Nick Koneski received Honorable Mention.

Congratulations to Maryanne Nicholson on her acceptance to Rhode Island College.

On Sat. the 15th, the Wrestling team competed in the Div. II South State-qualifier tournament. Placers for the Falcon Grapplers were: At heavyweight-Ryan Ramos took 5th place, at 138 lbs - Joe Tomellini took 1st place, and at 113 lbs - Brandon Tran took 2nd place. This past Friday and Saturday, Brandon Tran competed in the Div. II STATE tournament, which had 54 schools contributing athletes. Brandon took 5th in his 113-lbs weight division. This qualified him for the ALL-STATE tournament, making him the FIRST EVER Falcon wrestler to qualify for this prestigious tournament. Brandon will be competing this next friday & saturday at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA. Good luck Brandon!

Congratulations to Chris Berry on his acceptance to University of New Hampshire and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

ALL wrestlers need to return their uniforms and jump-ropes to Coach Lovejoy as soon as possible.

The first informational meeting for dance club will be held this Friday February 28 in room 220. For more information see Kim ribeiro or miss Harwood.

Jazz Band rehearsal is Tuesday from 2-3. Pro Musica rehearsal is Thursday from 2-3.

There will be a student government meeting on Friday in small cafe. If you cannot attend you must see Mr. Cooke or Ms. Beckett!

ATTENTION SENIORS:  A representative from Bristol Community College will be at D-R on Thursday, March 13th for an on-site admissions day.  If you are interested in attending BCC, please pick up an application in the Guidance office this week.  Applications must be signed by a parent, and the application fee will be waived.  Appointment times are limited so please sign up as soon as possible.
