Daily Announcements 5/6

Attention seniors: If you have not submitted your write-up for graduation, please bring it to the main office.  Also, tickets for prom and senior supper are on sale after school this week in room 121.  Permission slips for prom are available in the main office and in room 121.

Attention girls' basketball players there will be a meeting Wednesday morning in the cafeteria after announcements with the captains to discuss summer league. All players are expected to attend. 

The Leo Club is looking for acts to perform at their Open Mic Night, which will be taking place on Friday, May 23rd.  If interested, please see Andrew Carden or Mr. DeMello.

Attention Speech Team! Please check in with the facebook page to sign up for food for the end of the year banquet May 31. You can also email Mrs. Loell or a captain. Please RSVP and sign up for food by next Tuesday!

Do you have any ideas to make DR better? Would you like to be more involved in school? Would you like to have a voice in real decisions made here at DR? Then, you are in luck! Student Government is holding elections and would love to have you run for an office! We are looking to fill class officer positions of president, vice president, treasurer, secretary and representatives. In addition we are looking for qualified members to run for student body representatives. Pick up a nomination form in the main office or on the bulletin board in the Rehoboth foyer today. Nomination forms and essay submissions are due by Friday, May 9th. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Cooke or Ms. Beckett.

Reminder to all Chess club members that club photos are today after school.  See Mr. Loell in room 311 for more details.

Joey Rogers pitched a complete-game 4 hitter to lead the baseball team to an 11-2 win @ New Bedford Vocational yesterday.  Ryan Murphy had 3 hits including a home run while Kyle Rose and Joey Rogers added 2 hits each.  With the win, the Falcons qualify for post- season play.

The girls softball team defeated Greater New Bedford Vocational yesterday 2-0. Kelly Madigan spun a 2 hitter earning the victory. Lucy Maslen had 2 hits and the game winning RBI. Next game is tomorrow at home vs. Wareham. The JV softball team lost yesterday 10-3. The Freshman softball team hosts Greater New Bedford Vocational today at 3:30.

After a rain delay, the ladies' tennis team defeated Wareham 5 - 0 yesterday afternoon.  Emma Masse cruised to a straight set win at number one, while Emily Fredette and Sophia Szydlowski had to fight for more than two hours for their victories.  Syvanna Caponigro and Jaime Fastino swept one doubles and Liza Sousa and Alyssa Carlson completed the sweep with their doubles win.  The girls, now 6 - 4 continue the quest on the road at Somerset Berkley today.

The Boys Tennis Team improved its record to 8-2 with a 5-0 win over Wareham yesterday.  Ryan Gilmore, Tim Guimond, and Austin Mc Eathron won their singles matches and Allan Fine  and Case Framson won their Doubles match 6-0, 6-0. The Boys host Somerset today at 3:30.

The boys track team lost heart breaker to ORR yesterday 69-67.  Alden Foelsche, Jacke Juncker, Bram Stebbings. Henry Dubois, and Cam Card each great performances 4x100 team of Kyle Cappiello, Matt Goss, Ed Medeiros, and Curtis Letourneau took first place as did the 4x400 team of Isiah Ferreira, Joe Marcille, Jake Juncker and Victor DeCosta. The Falcons are 5-1 and host Bourne on Thursday.

The girls track team lost to ORR yesterday 94-42. Event winners included Sophia Burrows, Bailey Avila, Mae Stebbings, Sam Rodrigues, and Mia Rogers. The girls host Bourne Thursday.

All students should be sure to check out the special project student government is running in the senior cafeteria during lunch today.

Attention all students who signed up for Powder Puff. We will be holding a mandatory informational meeting this Thursday at 6:30pm in Mr. T's room (Room 105). Please see Mr. T or Mr. Garcia if you have any questions.
