Daily Announcements 1/26

Anyone interested in volunteering to work at this year’s soup kitchen which will be held at the First Baptist Church in Fall River on Tuesday February 3rd, may sign up in room 115.

We are also running a coat and clothes drive so if you have an opportunity to clean out your closets and want to get rid of old clothes, jackets, hats and gloves we will be glad to take them off your hands.You may drop off in room 115 or room 117.

Time is running out to sign up for our next drivers education class which begins on Tuesday, February 3rd.  Please come to the main office to sign up. 

A representative from Johnson & Wales University will be at  D-R on Monday, February 9th, for an application review day.  If you are interested in attending Johnson & Wales, please pick up an application in the Guidance office this week.  Applications must be signed by a parent, and the application fee is waived.  Appointment times are limited, so please sign up today.

There will be a mandatory meeting for all DECA competitors, next Tuesday, January 27th, in room 219, immediately after school.If you cannot attend, you must see Mr. Lentz beforehand.

The sale of tickets for this year's Winter Ball has been extended until Monday, January 26th. If anyone cannot purchase their ticket by that date please see Mrs. Bergeron to put your name on the reserved ticket list. Tickets are $25 and are on sale in the Media Center, see Mrs. Bergeron.

With the closing of grades, it is now time to return all first semester library materials to the Media Center. Many students still have outstanding library obligations from last year. Please return all library materials  as soon as possible. Any questions please see Mrs. Bergeron.

Have you been to a wrestling match this year? If not, Wednesday will be your LAST CHANCE, as your Falcon grapplers host their LAST home match of the year against Nausset Regional HS in the main gym at 7PM. Come out to show your support and catch the action may-side.

There will a unified basketball practice on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 2:00 to 3:30. Please see Mrs. Rose in room 224 with your email address for other information.

Congratulations to Julie Araujo on her acceptance to Southern New Hampshire University and Western New England University. 

In their best performance of the season, the boys' basketball team earned a hard-fought 60-53 win over Apponequet on Friday.  Four players scored in double figures led by Nick Koneski with 15, Arthur Correira added 14 with 13 rebounds, Jason Ramos had 11, Cam Reed 10, and Adam Conlon had 9 points & 10 rebounds.

The girls' basketball dropped a hard fought game to Apponequet Friday 50-36. The team was lead by Kylie D'Ambrosio with 20 points and Julia Campezato with 7 points.

Attention girls' basketball players. Today's practice will run from 2-330 and will be for varsity only.
Congratulations to the DR Speech and Debate Team who held their own with over 30 schools from as far away as Texas at the Columbia University High School Invitational Tournament this past weekend. Our own Surrey Houlker advanced to quarter finals in Dramatic Performance! The D-R Speech Team did us proud!


Due to weather conditions, the Leo Club Video Game Night will be postponed one week, to Thursday, February 5th.
