On Saturday, January 10th fourteen members of the Dighton-Rehoboth Leo Club journeyed to Hyannis for the annual Lions Mid-Winter Conference. At the conference, the Leos met with Lions Club members from around southeastern Massachusetts, discussed new events that the club will be participating in and possible plans for future activities. They also met with District Governor Bev Dillon and International Director Carla Harris to discuss the role and extent of Lions International, which is the largest charity organization in the world. Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund Director Randy Pinch also spoke to the Leos regarding the history of the Lions, and the challenge that Helen Keller gave the club to become "Knights of the Blind." Over $31 million dollars in donations have been given to research hospitals in the commonwealth by Massachusetts Lions Clubs, which have greatly expanded the realm of knowledge regarding vision care, leading to numerous developments that have changed innumerable lives.
