We wanted to keep you posted in regard to the heating and boilers at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School. On Tuesday, January 6th, our thermostat on our boiler was not reading the temperature correctly and thus was not producing as much heat as needed. At about 10:45 am, a technician arrived and fixed the issue. Today administration went around to several classrooms to check in on the temperature. One classroom was at 55 degrees and we moved those students to another location that was warmer. At the same time, we had our maintenance staff fix the heat in the classroom so it was used by the end of the day. Temperatures in most classrooms were approximately 62-65 degrees.
Today our temporary boiler was delivered and it will be fully installed by tomorrow afternoon. This boiler will be in place until our permanent boiler arrives in about three weeks. We are not anticipating any classrooms to be any colder than it was today. Tomorrow we are going to have "Wear your favorite sweater and Winter Hat Day" for students and faculty. We appreciate your patience and will continue to keep you updated. If you have any questions, please contact the Main Office.
