Daily Announcements 9/23

A reminder to everyone that today durning lunch we will be holding the DR Activity Fair. Please take time to stop at the library to check what's happening. 

Any students who are interested on serving on School Council should see Mr. Braga.  The commitment is 1 meeting per month on Tuesday's at 5:30 pm.  See Mr. Braga for details. 

The DR boys cross country team took a major step in the SCC by beating their top rival, Old Rochester, yesterday in a thrilling, come from behind race. Winning the race for DR was Kyle Rendon followed by teammates Joe Marcille and Hans Foelsche, in 3rd and 4th place respectively. Securing the DR victory was a pack effort by Tyler Hall, Billy Davis and Dean Bullock, all of whom did their job of breaking the Bulldogs fifth man.

Girls cross country lost to OR but beat Bourne to run their record to 3-1 on the season. Hannah Saleeba, Emily Parker and Cassidy Vincent led the young Falcons squad in what is sure to be an exciting season. 

Reminder - Pro Musica auditions are today immediately after school in the band room. 

Also, special thanks to the members who performed the National Anthem at the opening of last night's school committee meeting: Seth Amaral, Maddie Burtan, Caroline DeCoste, Chris George, Pat Newman, Kristina Perez, Derek Samreth, Toni Scott, and Tori Scott.

In its best performance of the year, the Golf Team won its fifth straight match yesterday, beating Voke by a score of 164 to 76.  Sophomore Sam Taraian continued his excellent play and led the team with 33 points, followed by junior Mitch Brown with 32, junior Jack McGuirk with 30, senior co-captain Jon Ursillo with 27, sophomore Ian Sullivan with 24 and senior co-captain Nate Oliver with 18.  The team faces its toughest test of the season when it travels to Apponequet this afternoon.

Just a reminder that there will be a Freshmen Transition meeting today immediately after school in the cafeteria. All freshmen are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend
