For many students, the first day of school is a fun and exciting day.  Students who have not seen each other since last year get to catch up from the summer and share stories.  There is also some anxiety that comes with the first day of school; specifically lunch.  Today, one of our guidance counselors was escorting a new student into lunch and was on a quest to find students that this new student could sit with at lunch.  Our Guidance Counselor and this student walked into lunch about 15 minutes after the start of lunch and said that he would sit by himself.   Just as he was walking away from our Guidance Counselor, another student walked up to him and asked if he would like to sit with him and his friends at lunch.  This act of kindness is what we call the DR Difference.  We challenge our students to make a difference each day and their acts of kindness will not go unnoticed.  Thank you for making a difference today.  We look forward to a successful school year.
