This Week & A Short Week Ahead

We are underway in our Winter Athletic Season with games being played this week and tonight.  On Tuesday, basketball had its season opener where both the boys and the girls teams opened up with a win.  Today, our staff and students simulated ALICE protocols to ensure that students are aware of their surroundings and that they listen to the information to make informed decisions.

DRRHS WiFi:
This week our Tech Team analyzed our bandwidth and noticed that the DR Guest network was bogging down our other two wifi networks (DR Staff and DR Student) and our server in general. Moving forward, our Tech Team will monitor the DR Guest network which will require students to login to the DR Guest network which can be accessed by a password.  WiFi will continue to be available for its original purpose of using the internet for academic purposes. Teachers will continue to allow the students to access the Internet during class for assignments. We are researching the ability to have this access through student log in with a timed expiration after class is finished. These changes are expected to begin after the holiday break. We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time and we will continue to analyze how we can maximize our technology to increase student achievement.

Holiday Giving Project: Deadline extended until Monday.
Over the last two weeks, students and staff donated over 200 gifts to the Holiday Giving Project, which is the 7th Annual Toy Drive from the Peer Leaders.  The Peer Leaders will donate the gifts to the Rehoboth and Dighton Food Pantry who will distribute to families.  Thank you to everyone who donated.  We will extend the Holiday Giving Project until Monday.
