Daily Announcements

Attn: Students Picture day is next Tuesday, October 4th. If you need a picture form to bring home please come to the office to pick one up.

There are more part-time job opportunities posted in Guidance. If you are looking for a job, stop by and check them out.

 There is a student government meeting today for all members after school in room 108. Please see Ms. Beckett if you cannot attend.

Any student interested in participating in the Student Advisory to the School Committee, please contact Mr. Braga. The committee will be responsible to report out to the School Committee on DRRHS topics.

Good morning Leos and interested members. We will have be having a meeting today in room 120 directly after school. We will be handing out new member paperwork. If you cannot attend this meeting please be sure to pick up these forms from Mr. DeMello any time during the day. Thank you!

National Honor Society students and their friends are invited to participate in this Sunday's Gloria Gemma run/walk in Providence. Ms. Payne will hold a brief meeting in guidance after school today for those interested in attending. If you cannot stay after school, please see her during the day.

There will be a brief informational meeting for Dance Team, Wednesday October 5th in room 307. All who are interested are invited! If you have any questions, please see Miss Harwood in room 307.

Are you interested in law, Criminal Justice, Theatre, and Acting? Do you like to investigate criminal cases, argue facts, and win arguments with your quick wit? Then come and learn about the DR Mock Trial Team. An informational session will be held on Tuesday, October 4th afterschool in Media. The season will begin the following week so if you are interested in joining come to the first meeting or see Mrs. Tremblett in guidance for more information.

"Buenos dias!, The Spanish Club will meet on Monday at 2 in room 130. We'll nominate officers and discuss this year's plans, including a delicious Mexican restaurant outing.

A reminder that there will be an informational meeting for all interested in Portuguese Club today after school in room 122. All are welcome.

There will be a Peer Leaders meeting Monday, October 3rd after school in room 307. All returning and new applicants are to be present. Please see Miss Harwood if you have any questions or can not attend.

Records were broken on September 27th as the Golf Team stayed unbeaten by beating Bourne by a score of 187 to 104. The 187 point total was the highest total ever achieved by a DR golf team. Junior SCC All Star Sam Taraian recorded 40 points, marking the first time a DR golfer broke the 40 barrier. Senior co-captain Jack McGuirk (33 points) and junior Jack Chrystie (31 points) also enjoyed personal best rounds. Senior Blake Cox (32 points), freshman Adam Housley (26 points) and junior Ian Sullivan (25 points) completed the scoring. The team now enjoys a two-game lead over both Old Rochester and Apponequet, and travels to Fairhaven this afternoon.

The Golf Team continued to set new records yesterday when it defeated Fairhaven by a score of 203 to 59. The 203 total marks the first time that a team in the SCC exceeded 200 points in a match. Freshman Adam Housley continued to excel, as he turned in a 40 point performance. Junior SCC All Star Sam Taraian contributed 37 points, while junior Ian Sullivan and sophomore Nolan DiRenzo achieved personal bests by scoring 34 and 33 points, respectively. Senior Blake Cox (30 points) and junior Jack Chrystie (29 points) completed the scoring. The 11-0 Falcons host Seekonk at Hillside this afternoon.

The Girls Soccer Team lost a hard fought battle to Greater New Bedford Vocational yesterday by a score of 1 - 0. Evie Rodrigues, Maddie Nees, Ashley Damon, Megan Moran, and Abby Teixeira played well defensively for the falcons. 

The boy's soccer team defeated Greater New Bedford Vocational yesterday 1-0. Jason Berube was phenomenal in goal earning his 3rd shut out of the season.  Practice will be at the high school from 2:15-4:15.

The JV girls soccer team won their 5th game in a row by defeating New Bedford Voc 2-0 yesterday. The game marked the 3rd straight shutout for Megan Reed and a defense led by Mya Beausoleil, Caroline Enos and Shea Herman. Hannah Jordan scored both goals for the Lady Falcons, with assists by Sienna Kulpa and Alicia Bleau. Great job girls!
