This Week and the Week Ahead

This week we had a short week and it is still not yet completed, since we are hosting over nearly 500 students tonight for our annual Homecoming Dance.  Spirit Week concluded today with the Class of 2017 claiming victory!  We hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving holiday.
Perfect MCAS Scores:
On Tuesday, November 8th, Superintendent Dr. Azar and the School Committee recognized students from all 5 schools who scored perfect on the 2016 MCAS tests.  Congratulations to Emily Greenberg, Emily Reid (2), Lindsey Silvia, and Megan Kelley on scoring a 280 on their MCAS test.  #DRPride

In the Classroom:
Foundations of Biology II students made models of viruses with nuts bolts and wires.  They explored the structure and characteristics of viruses.

Portuguese 1 Activity: What a wonderful activity! Portuguese 1 students were engaged learning numbers and colors by counting m & m's and making a graph.

DR Trail Update:
  • Anyone who is interested in volunteering to help complete the DR Trail, please contact Noah Avila at ndaavila@gmail.com. Details are listed below.
  • When: From 9:00 AM-4:00 PM on November 23rd, 26th and 27th they will be working on the Trail at the high school.
  • Where: They will be meeting at the far left corner of the Senior lot located across from the Rehoboth entrance.
  • What to Bring: Noah recommends that you bring work gloves, a rain jacket (Just in case), work/hiking boots, a water bottle, and a wheelbarrow and shovel if you have them.
  • What to Expect: Volunteers will be helping bring gravel down the trail in an effort to level and create a better trailhead, if time permits we will start laying mulch on the trail. Wheelbarrows are essential.
  • Snacks and Lunch: Around 12:00 pm-12:15 pm
  • They will be serving pizza for the volunteers. Aside that, water and light snacks will be available all day.
