Daily Announcements 3-29-19

Talent Show signups are going on now during all lunches. Sign up to compete or participate for fun! Forms and materials must be handed in to Ms. Beckett in room 108 by April 11th.

The Unified Track practice scheduled for today has been canceled. The next practice will be held on Tuesday April 2nd.

Best Buddies will be hosting its annual Egg Hunt on Wednesday, April 3rd from 2 to 3 p.m. Please see Mr. Garcia or Ms. Burnham if you have any questions.


Those interested in becoming a Freshman Mentor, please drop off your application in the main office by this wednesday (April 3rd).

Attention Juniors and Seniors, the 2019 Prom will be held on Friday May 17th at the Atlantic Resort Newport. Tickets will be on sale before and after school for ONE week only, starting this Monday April 1st- Friday April 5th.

Have you ever wanted to feel good about yourself and help someone that really needs it? Well now you can! From now until April 5, you can bring in your lightly used clothes, footwear, and coats to help children all over the state. Donate today to make a difference. Boxes are in both the Dighton & Rehotoh foyers.

Starting Monday March 18th, Senior Graduation Bios will be available through a google survey. The link will be emailed to all senior DR google email accounts and shared on Twitter. Attention Leo Club this week's meeting will be Wednesday after school in room 111. Please make every effort to attend as we have many service projects to discuss.

 The Boys Tennis Team is to report to the Locker room after school today for Uniform distribution before team pictures.

There is no student government meeting today. Please continue working on antibullying week materials. See Ms. Beckett with any questions.

 There will be a Portuguese Club meeting on Thursday after school in room 122 to discuss our next outing. If you can't attend please see one of the club officers or Mr. Augusto.

All students, you and your family are invited to attend the 3rd Colelge Fair held here at DR in the gym on Thursday from 6- 7:30. The event will host 50 colleges, universities, tech schools, and various branches of the military. The event is free. All are welcome to attend!

 Students who participated in the CSF Door to Door Campaign. Please return your ID badges if you still are in possession of them to Dr. Tench as soon as possible.

Students who participated in the CSF Door to Door Campaign, please see Dr. Tench if you have not completed your Dollars for Scholars online Application. This application must be complete in order to receive scholarships.

Daily Announcements 3-22-19

On Saturday at 12:00 pm the Advanced Theatre class will perform Our Place by Terry Gabbard. This one act play explores the meaning of the places we continue to revisit in our lives. The performance is free and the entire DRRHS community is invited.

Come join us for our 3rd annual DRRSD STREAMPosium tomorrow, Saturday, March 23, from 10am-2pm, at DRRHS.

Junior Achievement Titan Business Challenge


On March 12, 2019, DRRHS students traveled to UMass Dartmouth for the annual Junior Achievement Titan Business Challenge.   One team, made up of Kam Robitaille, Rhett Whittaker and Wyatt Nastar finished in second place each earning a $750 scholarship.

Tickets are on sale now for the spring musical. This year’s show is Chicago the high school edition. The show is April 4 and 5 at 6:30 and April 6 at 1:00. Tickets cost $10.00. Tickets are sold at lunch.

Daily Announcements 3-20-19

Do you need community service hours? Volunteers are needed during April vacation week to assist at Camp Matty, a therapeutic horseback riding camp. Check out the flyer in Guidance for more information.

Percussion ensemble will meet this afternoon at 2 in the band room.

There is a mandatory meeting today, Wednesday March 20, at 2:00 in the auditorium for the cast and crew of Chicago. All students who participate in the production are expected to attend.

Starting Monday March 18th, Senior Graduation Bios will be available through a google survey. The link will be emailed to all senior DR google email accounts and shared on Twitter. They must be completed by Friday March 29th. See Miss Harwood with any questions in room 307.

There will be a brief NHS meeting after school in the cafeteria after school on Thursday.

Students interested in traveling to Rome and Sicily next April vacation should meet in room 511 Thursday March 21st at 2 PM for an informational meeting. All are welcome !

DR College Fair.

Our 3rd annual college fair will be held on March 28th from 6-7:30.   There will be over 50 organizations, including colleges, technical schools, branches of the military, as well as other postsecondary options.  All students and parents are welcome to attend.   There will also be a junior parent presentation, from 5-6 the same evening, so any junior parents who would like to learn more about the college and career planning process, are welcome to attend that as well.

Daily Announcements 3-14-19

Anyone interested in applying to become a Freshman Mentor for the 2019-2020 school year, please pick up an application in the main office.

All students planning on participating in a spring sport must sign up on FamilyID by this Friday, March 15th. Do not hesitate to do so and jeopardize your ability to participate. Anyone with questions should see your coach or Mr. Kelley.

Student vs. Faculty Basketball game will be held on Friday night at 6:30. Come see old school vs. new school! Student admission is $3 and $5 for adults - all proceeds will benefit Hasbro Children's Hospital. Hope to see you there!

 Did you ever want to participate in a varsity sport but have been worried about making the cut, or not having enough time to practice for fear of losing your part-time job? You now have the opportunity to join the Unified Track Team. Compete, make friends, have fun. Sign up today on familyid or see Mr,. Garcia if you have any questions.

Daily Announcements 3-11-19

Our 3rd annual college fair will be held on March 28th in the gymnasium from 6-7:30. In attendance will be colleges, technical schools, branches of the military, as well as other career options. All parents and students are welcome.

 There will be a meeting for an girl interested in playing tennis this year after school on Thursday March 14th in the cafeteria. All returning players should sign up on Family ID prior to this meeting.

Join the National Honor Society at their fundraiser at Chipotle on Tuesday March 12th in Seekonk from 5-9pm. One third of all profits that night will go towards the NHS. Just mention that you are there to support the Dighton-Rehboth National Honor Society when you order.

Best Buddies Prom permission slips need to be turned in by Tuesday morning to Mr. Garcia or Ms. Burnham. This is the final deadline with no exceptions.

Best Buddies will be holding an open gym night on Tuesday, March 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. New members are welcome to attend.


The final strategy session for the titan challenge will be held after school today in room 305. Students attending tomorrow's field trip should make every effort to attend.

Daily Announcements 3-7-19

There will be a strategy/practice session after school today for business students participating in the Titan Challenge. Students should report to room 305.

 There will be an open gym volleyball night tomorrow Thursday 3/7 from 4-6 pm. This is open to any student male or female who would like to participate. 


Attention Project Hope members, the meeting on March 11th will be rescheduled to April 1st. Please check your emails for further information.

The rescheduled GSA sponsored movie Love Simon will be after school on Monday March 11th in room 105. Remember you must have a signed permission slip to enter. The movie will be about 2 hours. Please have rides to pick up up around 4:15pm.

 There will be NO Pro Musica rehearsal today.

SENIORS: Are you and your parents having difficulty completing your FAFSA? Help is available on Saturday, March 9th, at 10:00 AM at Bristol Community College in Taunton. Bring your parents and your 2017 tax information, and a representative will help you complete the FAFSA.

Need a prom dress? The 9th annual Project Dress Up is being held on Saturday, April 6th, 10 AM to 3 PM at St. Nicholas of Myra Parish Center in North Dighton. Prom dresses are free, and there are over 1,000 dresses available.

Any girl interested in playing on the girls lacrosse team must sign up on family ID by March 15th and attend the mandatory meeting on Tuesday, March 12 after school from 2-2:30 in room 503. No exceptions.

 Do you want to volunteer and earn community service hours? HMEA needs volunteers for their IncredABLE 5K Day on Sunday, May 19th to help out in the children's area, food tent, walk route, set-up or clean-up. Volunteer applications are available in Guidance.

Attention Seniors, just a reminder that the Citizen's Scholarship Foundation applications for the Door to Door Campaign is due this Friday, March 8. Applications must be complete inluding having a signed permission slip for ALL students particpating in the scholarship fundraiser. As a reminder, students who apply for scholarships must particpate in this Door To Door campiagn in order to be eligible. Please make every effort to actively participate.
