Daily Announcements 4-29-19

Next Wednesday, May 1st is National College Decision Day. It is the day that the nation's high school class of 2019 must put down their deposit to contractually agree to attend the college of their choice. Seniors we hope to celebrate all future planning decisions on this day. So on Wednesday please plan to wear clothing that represents your college, military service, or place of employment decision. At the end of the day we will gather together in the gymnasium to take a large group photo, and then students will also be allowed to take their own pictures with their friends.

 Have you ever wanted to attend a Best Buddies event? Now is your chance. Best Buddies is holding a Karaoke night on Wednesday, May 1st from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the media center. Anyone interested in joining and current Best Buddies members are encouraged to attend. 

Current Best Buddies members. We need your help selling tickets for the Best Buddies Clam Boil Fundraiser on May 11th. Please stop by Mr. Garcia's or Ms. Burnham's room to pick up a ticket order form by Wednesday, May 1st.

Attention seniors. Approximately half of the senior class STILL does not have their graduation bios submitted through the google survey that has been shared to your SCHOOL email address. Please see Miss Harwood in room 307 if you have any questions.

Reminder to Pro Musica - rehearsal is today from 2-3 in the auditorium.

Tomorrow's Jazz Band rehearsal will be from 2:00-4:00. Jazz band members, please check your email for upcoming events.

Attention CTE students..there will be a Skills USA meeting today directly after school in Room 522. Please make every effort to attend.
Reminder that the photography club meeting is canceled for today. An email will be sent to members with the next meeting date.

Lucas Berube pitched 6 solid innings to lead the baseball team to an impressive 10-2 win at Seekonk yesterday. Anthony Malo had 3 hits and a RBI, Hendrix Pray and Berube added 2 hits each. Harrison Pray had 2 run double while Mason Kulpa & Will Thibault had triples.

There will be a brief Portuguese Club meeting on Tuesday after school in room 122. The next outing will be discussed.

The Boys Tennis Team lost a close match to Old Rochester yesterday by the score of 3-2- The winners of the two matches were Peter Anghinetti at second singles and Logan Pimentel and Steven Morgado at first doubles. Their record stands at 5-3. The boys will play again on Monday hosting Old Rochester.

This Friday, April 26th Peer Leaders presents the annual Talent Show at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Tickets will be sold at the door and are $3 for students and $5 for adults. Come and support all the performers and we promise no Avengers spoilers!

Seniors....with your last day approaching in a few weeks, this is the time to make sure you do not have any obligations. All Library books and gym locks must be turned in and lunch charges must be paid. Also, if you owe for your cap and gown, please brinig $21.00 to Mrs. Stahowiak in the main office.

Attn: Students The next set of driver education classes will start on Tuesday, May 7th. Please come to the office to sign up.

The Boys Tennis Team defeated Middleboro yesterday by the score of 3-2 . Winner were Peter Anghinetti at second singles. Logan Pimentel and Steven Morgado at first Doubles and Jacob Harris and Kyle Willette at second doubles. The boys will host Bishop Feehan this afternoon.

Parents are invited to attend as well. Sign up is required to attend. See your Guidance Counselor with any questions

Daily Announcements 4-22-19

There is a very important Peer Leaders Meeting today Monday, April 22nd. We will be planning the upcoming Talent Show, if you cannot attend please see Ms. B to sign up for a job!

There is a mandatory student government meeting on Tuesday, April 23rd after school in room 108. We will be voting on state student council representatives. Please make every effort to attend. If you cannot attend, you must see Ms. Beckett prior to the meeting.

Attention class of 2019 Reps, there is a brief meeting in room 307 after school today. Please see Miss Harwood if you cannot attend.

Reminder to Seniors that this Friday is the last day to submit graduation bios. Please take the google survey using your DR student account. If you have any questions, email or see Miss Harwood in room 307.

There will be an NHS meeting Thursday in the cafeteria after school. This will be a brief meeting and all members are expected to attend

Daily Announcements 4-12-19

Today is the last day to sign up for Talent Show. Please return all forms and materials to Ms. Beckett in room 108 before you leave.

Lucas Berube pitched a complete game 1 hitter striking out 8 to lead the baseball team to 6-0 win over Wareham yesterday. Shayne O’Neil and Harrison Pray had 2 hits while Tom Gordon added an RBI single.

The Falcons travel to Apponequet for a 3:45 game today.


Attention Juniors and Seniors, today is the LAST day to turn in guest contracts and table selections. Please see Miss Harwood in room 307 or Ms. DelRosso in room 510. Guest contracts not turned in on time will be refunded the week after April vacation.

Daily Announcements 4-11-19

The baseball team opens the 2019 season today against Wareham here at DR at 3:45 p.m.

Congratulations to the boys tennis team for their win over Wareham yesterday by the score of 5-0. Winners in their respective matches were : Peter Anghinetti, Ryan Doane, Ryan Callaghan, Logan Pimentel and Steven Morgado, Jacob Harris and Kyle Willette. The boys travel to Apponoquet on Friday

Congratulations to the Unified Track Team after they successfully competed in their first meet of the season versus Norton High School. Everyone contributed to a strong team performance

Congratulations to the Girls Lacrosse team on their wins against BP yesterday with a Varsity score of 12-5 and JV game of 4-2. Great job ladies!

Daily Announcements 4-9-19

Talent Show signups are going on now during all lunches. Sign up to compete or participate for fun! Forms and materials must be handed in to Ms. Beckett in room 108 by April 11th.

Attention Junior and Seniors attending Prom: Table and Meal selection forms as well as guest contracts MUST be in no later than this FRIDAY April 12th. Please plan accordingly and turn in forms on time to either Ms. Harwood in room 307 or Ms. DelRosso in room 510.

Today, on the second day of antibullying week, we celebrate acceptance in our school community and recognize that we should strive to be allies to our peers. LGBTQ students are 91% more likely to be bullied or harassed than their peers and 8 out of 10 students identifying with ths group report that they have been verbally harassed at school. Grab a sticker at lunch to show that you are an ally and support our peers. 

Are you interested in visiting Europe and seeing the beautiful sights of Spain and Portugal? Then you can come to an informational meeting about a school trip that will take place on April vacation of next year. The meeting will be tomorrow in room 132 right after school. Come and hear all of the details about this school trip planned for next year.
